Service regulations of a vice and care of them

It would seem, what rules of care of a vice can be? After all this tool, at first sight, does not need absolutely any service. On the contrary, and behind a vice it is necessary to look after not less, than other tools. Besides, it is necessary to know how correctly to maintain them. How it is necessary to do it and speech will go more low.

1. Before each application of a vice it is necessary to check up their fastening to a table or a workbench if on a vice that is available.

2. Grip details in a vice it is possible to carry out only a hand through specially for this purpose intended handle or petals of a lamb. Blows on the handle, handle escalating are inadmissible in order to avoid damage of a carving of the running screw and a nut.

3. Replaceable steel laths of a vice should be so tempered, that the file hardly scratched them. At such degree of training in laths some share of viscosity will remain, and they will not crumble.

4. The running screw should rotate in a nut smoothly and without a special friction. For this purpose it grease with any консистентным fat, technical vaseline, солидолом or a mix of the fused stearin (from a candle), powdery graphite (from a pencil core) and lubricating oil. The running screw for greasing is preferable for unscrewing.

5. (Hammers, sledge hammers) and character of performed work it is necessary to commensurate a percussion instrument with the sizes and mission of a vice. First of all it concerns cabins with a chisel, a bend of details, etc.

6. All parts of a vice firmly connected at assemblage and manufacturing, should keep this condition.

7. At compression of cases of sponges replaceable laths should contact on length and vertical planes. If it does not occur because of the barbarous relation to a vice, one of ways of elimination of defect — removal of a layer from a lath or laths.

8. During the periods between application of a vice of the case of sponges it is necessary to dissolve as much as possible in the presence of a spring between them. Even in the absence of a spring the backlash between cases of sponges or their replaceable laths will eliminate pressure in the running screw and its nut.

9. At installation of a vice out of a premise it is necessary to paint, grease and cover them.
